On February 27, 2007, she was caught speeding, again with a suspended license. She also did not have her headlights on even though it was after dark. Those actions, along with the failure to enroll in a court-ordered alcohol education program constituted a violation of the terms of her probation.

Verdict: Hilton was sentenced to 45 days in jail for violating her probation and was required to begin her jail term on June 5, 2007 and checked herself into the Century Regional Detention Facility, an all-female jail in California. On June 7, she was reassigned by the Los Angeles County Sheriff to 40 days of house arrest with an electronic monitoring device due to an unspecified medical condition.

Complications arise when Judge Michael Sauer summoned Hilton to appear on court the same day she was released, ordering authorities to send her back to jail to serve out her original 45-day sentence. She started screaming in the courtroom and concerns about her condition led to her being moved to the medical wing of the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles. On June 13, she was moved back again to Century Regional Detention Facility.
